How to get there
Location
Ascent to the Achensee on the Steam Cog Railway 45 minutes.
Direct connection to the Achensee Lake Cruise (boat).
Descent from the lakeside station Seespitz to Jenbach 40 minutes.
By car
Motorway “Inntalautobahn” from Rosenheim, exit Wiesing-Achensee. Tiroler Bundesstrasse B171 in the direction of Schwaz, leave at Jenbach. Turn left at the second roundabout (Shell petrol station) and follow the signs to the station (Bahnhof).
Coming from the direction of Innsbruck, exit the motorway at Jenbach. Turn left. Left again at the roundabout (Shell petrol station), follow the signs to the station (Bahnhof).
Toll-free alternative: coming from the direction of Munich, pass through the Tegernsee valley, exiting at Holzkirchen. Travel along the Tegernsee (lake) and cross the former German/Austrian border at the Achenpass (941m). Continue on the B181 along the Achensee, then follow the B171 in the direction of Schwaz, exit at Jenbach. Turn left at the second roundabout (Shell petrol station) and follow the signs to the station (Bahnhof).
By train
The express train takes approx. 19 minutes from Innsbruck to Jenbach. The station is an intersection of the Austrian Railways, the Achenseebahn and the Zillertalbahn and is situated between Innsbruck and Kufstein.
